Actor Sambhavna Seth Mocks Domestic Worker: Actor and Influencer Sambhavna Seth and husband faced massive backlash on the internet for posting a video online in which they allegedly mocked their domestic worker on camera. The actor, along with her husband has now issued a apology in a separate video.

The Razia Sultan actor posted a video (in June) along with her husband Avinash Dwivedi in which they allegedly insulted their domestic worker for speaking in her native language. However, today the couple has issued an apology video. They have called the earlier video a “bad taste of humour” and that they had no mean intent. The first video now stands deleted.

Sambhavna Seth Insults House Help

In the first video, Seth and her husband Dwivedi can be reportedly seen mocking the domestic worker who is reluctant to show her face on the camera. The video has been harshly criticised for demeaning an Adivasi woman and her native language. Many have alleged that the actress and husband, mocked a language for social media traction.

Sambhavna Seth Issues Apology For Casteist Video

Seth, along with Avinash Dwivedi, took to their official Instagram account and shared an apology video titled “apologising to the whole Adivasi community” in which they said that they are sorry for disappointing lakhs of people.

Seth added that they create humorous videos and their intent was to make everyone laugh, and didn’t intend to make fun of any community. Dwivedi said that they do not follow any script in their videos which is why they can make a mistake.

Actor Rakhi Sawant commented in the said video, “Please everyone maaff kardo (Please everyone forgive them).”

Earlier in May, Mumbai police registered a case against the Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma actor Munmun Dutta for using a casteist slur in a video that went viral. The Apex Court has now stayed the case. In another incident, actor Yuvika Choudhary also shared a video on her social media where she used a casteist slur. Offended by the video, Twitter users began criticising her. They started the trend ‘Arrest Yuvika Choudhary’ which soon went viral. Choudhary and along with husband Prince Narula later issued apologies on social media for uttering the offensive.
